So i've been looking everywhere for an answer to this question. As a sport pilot, could I fly my wife AND infant? Sport pilot regs state "pilot and passenger" which seems pretty clear cut to me. But, an infant is allowed to occupy a airplane seat, commercially, on someones lap, up to age 2.
Im working on my PPL, so this is soon to be a non issue anyways.

Re: Sport Pilot Ticket - Wife + Baby?
Even though the baby is not required to have its own seat or seat belt they are still a passenger. So the answer is, No you cab not carry your wife and baby as a sport pilot.
Re: Sport Pilot Ticket - Wife + Baby?
Actually, you can carry both your wife and your baby as a Sport pilot - but only up until your wife gives birth to the baby.

Actually was just thinking about this very question, but yeah sport pilot only permits carrying of one passenger. Although something like a dog doesn't count as a passenger so if you fly for something like PilotsnPaws then as long as you have useful load you could carry as many dogs/cats as you want.
