Sling 2 build / Midwest Sky Sports

Talk about airplanes! At last count, there are 39 (and growing) FAA certificated S-LSA (special light sport aircraft). These are factory-built ready to fly airplanes. If you can't afford a factory-built LSA, consider buying an E-LSA kit (experimental LSA - up to 99% complete).

Finally! 30 more fly off hours and it is off to Florida!

BTW, is there an easy way to post a 10 second video clip here? It has to be easy or never mind.

not that I'm aware of, Cam. What many of our members do is post their video clips to YouTube, and then post a link here.

Yes , it does work.

The color scheme makes the plane look very light/bright but not the usual white-with-something-on-top like most LSAs.

Very lovely.

Is that beach sand on the side of the runway?

Great clip and thanks for sharing. I do love the color scheme as it is similar to my SportCruiser.

Thanks gents. The hardest part of this project (besides so many delays...NOT all MSS fault) was paint scheme selection. So, thanks for words of affirmation!!!

More to follow. (this whole thing seems unreal...until I am flying MY airplane, I guess...I have not seen my Sling, in person, since August 2018!)

Cheers boys!!

Here is another clip...

Cam737 - congrats on having your Sling 2 up in the air and flying! Gorgeous craft! I bet you can't wait to fly her!

Question: Awesome video, but why the smoke test?

Thanks RTK.

The smoke test is highly technical and complex flight test to confirm aircraft rigging is perfect...nawww...just kidding. Well, last summer I was pounding rivets in Caro, Michigan, on my airplane. I VERY un-seriously said to Henry, who happens to be a former Blue Angel airframe mechanic,..."why don't we have a smoke generator on this thing?" . He thought for a moment, his eyes got really wide open and he smiled ear-to-ear, and said "we can do that". I told him I was just kidding! He said we can do it easy for about $150 in parts. "Seriously?" Therefore, my Sling is the first Sling (that I know of) in the world with a smoke generator. Everyone should have one!

There are some good smoking KitFox videos on YouTube. I am sure lots of RV's smoking videos too.

Stop spending my money for me Cam!

I just found a use for that spare button on my stick. June (1st visit to MWSS) can’t come soon enough now.

Yipppppeeee! The wait has been tough, but, it is SO WORTH IT!!!!. I flew my Sling for the first time yesterday in Caro, MI! In fact, I flew it 8.0 hours yesterday and 6.0 hours today bringing the total time to 25 hours...just in time for the Rotax-required 25 hour oil change. Knock that out tomorrow am with Henry teaching me how. 15 more hours and back to WARM FL!!!!

I cannot convey in words how awesome the Sling 2 is. I cannot convey in words how awesome the Garmin avionics are...so I won't. (ok, one word...UNBELIEVABLE!)

Midwest Sky Sports continues to over-deliver!
