I long ago discovered that the mountains have their own weather.
And that can cut both ways - sometimes its noticeably worse than the flatter terrain to the south and north, sometimes noticeably better.
And today was the latter - there was nary a hint of a gust all day, with maybe 5kt or 6kt winds at the most - a perfect day for flying - once you got here!
As always, discretion is the better part of valor!

Yeah, I forgot to set my altimeter and did the entire flight with it indicating about 200' high.
Did not notice it until taxiing in.
First time in a long time I've forgotten that. Probably earned itself a place on my checklist!

And by 'fessing up, you probably saved somebody else from making the same mistake. Good job of teaching by counter-example, Eddie!FastEddieB wrote:First time in a long time I've forgotten that. Probably earned itself a place on my checklist!

It doesn't replace checking the altimeter but Dynon's (D-100 and, presumably, Skyview) have a setting where the altimeter remembers the altitude when it was turned off then resets the barometric pressure to the last known altitude when powered back on.
