Heard This at a James Gregory performance:
Hey! Me and My wife were in Miami about to get on one of them 2-engine prop jobs to hop over to the Bahamas.
The pilot comes over to me an asks me and my wife "How much y'all weigh?"
I say WHAT!!!" "Why you need to know how much we weigh?"
He says "So I'll know how much gas to put in."
I say "$#!+ !! Fill-it-up!!" "I'd hate to know I died in a plane crash cuz some fat lady lied about how much she weighed."

Funny joke. But seriously if it was necessary to fly a bunch of people who might be sensitive about their weight better to ask "How much do you AND YOUR BAGS weigh? I don't care which is which but I need an accurate TOTAL NUMBER to keep us safe." If weight and balance is an issue I guess the bags could always be weighed after the people board.
Maybe not accurate, but not terribly unsafe if you assume high enough averages. Of course, the airlines have a financial incentive to squeeze as much weight as they can onto every flight.designrs wrote:Are averages per person accurate when you have hundreds of people?
