Sport aviation is growing rapidly. But the new sport pilot / light-sport aircraft rules are still a mystery to many flight schools and instructors. To locate a flight school offering sport pilot training and/or light-sport aircraft rentals, click on the "Flight School And Rental Finder" tab above. This is a great place to share ideas on learning to fly, flight schools, costs and anything else related to training.

Can't be any worst than an initial DC-9 captain checkout. . . .
So, have you learned to keep the dry side up and the wet side down?

Congratulations! Now, you should join Seaplane Pilot's Association. They're a really great bunch of folks.

Congrats! Do be advised though, unlike what was stated earlier in this thread, a sport pilot seaplane add-on endorsement does NOT count as a flight review. You still need one of those.
The problem is that 61.56(d) requires that in order for a checkride to count as a flight review it must be given by a DPE. A flight review can only be given by a CFI if you are already rated in the aircraft when you take the flight, which you were not. You can go up for an additional hour in the floatplane with the CFI after the proficiency check and do an additional hour of ground with him also at that point and have that count as your flight review, but the proficiency check itself does not count.
I brought this problem to the attention of AOPA about a year ago and they are working on a rule fix with the FAA.
