Does anyone know if the panel cutout size for a Garmin 796 would work for an iFly 740b?

External dimensions for the 796 are 5.1" x 8.0" x 1.5"
External dimensions for the 740b are 4.5" x 7.25" x .75"

It appears the 740b would fit in a cutout sized for the 796, but you may need some sort of bezel to cover the gaps. As far as panel mounting hardware like Airgizmos, I don't have a clue if the model for the 740b would fit in a cutout made for the 796 model.

I found the Airgizmos dock for the iFly 740b was too big to fit in my panel without major rearrangement. Instead of mounting it flush I made a bracket that holds the unit on the front of the panel. The 740b isn't very thick so this works just fine. This also allows access to the power button without removing it from the panel
