Re: What certificate required
That 1420 was just a typo. I did indeed mean 1320. I just edited my post to correct for fat finger syndrome

Re: What certificate required
I guess your calculation show that we can dispel the myth that 1320 came from the fed's converting the European 600 kg standard from metric to colonial units.

Reminds me of the quip: There are two kinds of countries - those that have landed a man on the moon, and those that use the metric system!drseti wrote:I guess your calculation show that we can dispel the myth that 1320 came from the fed's converting the European 600 kg standard from metric to colonial units.

Yeah . . . and besides that . . . the moon thingy was accomplished 50 years ago.FastEddieB wrote:drseti wrote:Reminds me of the quip: There are two kinds of countries - those that have landed a man on the moon, and those that use the metric system!

Re: What certificate required
As a major aside, signed up for AppleTV+ yesterday and started "For All Mankind", an alternate reimagining of the Space Race. Pretty decent so far.
Re: What certificate required
Last flight delayed until Monday, weather permitting.
Retired from flying.
Re: What certificate required
Be sure to get a Last Flight picture of you with the plane. Will make a great memento.

Since there will be no fire hoses, I might get out and piss on the side of the plane. Well, maybe the tire.
Retired from flying.
Re: What certificate required
In the old Soviet Union, Yuri Gagarin pissed on a tire of the bus that carried him out to the launch site. This became a tradition practiced by all successive Cosmonauts - including Valentina Tereshkova in 1963, when she became the first woman in space!
