Maintenance during Epidemic

Post by Sling 2 Pilot »

What will be the impact, for maintenance shops, during the crisis. Also, will those requiring annual inspections and avionics checks find themselves beyond their expiration dates due to the fallout from the virus? Will extensions be granted?

Maybe drseti, would care to opine on the subject. Thanks in advance.

I heard on Thursday's edition of AOPA Live This Week that the alphabet organizations are asking FAA for temporary relief from expirations. In my state, the Governor has mandated a temporary shutdown of all non-essential businesses. That includes FBOs, so my shop and flight school are now closed.
The opinions posted are those of one CFI, and do not necessarily represent the FAA or its lawyers.
