... here’s a partial list:
8 BMWs
2 Porsches
1 Mini
2 Hummers
2 Corvettes
(Many vehicles traded in early, because I was ready for yet another unnecessary new toy... sigh.)
Harley Night Rod
19’ Airstream Trailer
$250k Motorhome (that actually worked well for tax purposes, as I legitimately used it for business and there were awesome tax incentives.)
Many expensive dinners with many high-maintence girlfriends / models / playmates.
10+ trips to Bangkok, often for one month at a time... I almost moved there!
A horse, training Dressage with trainers from Denmark.
... and of course the biggest thrill, my 2012 SportCruiser, which I miss more than life itself.
(Read my book, which is actually quite difficult for me to put out there, and find out why my life must be extraordinary.)
Here are my finances. I need your help please.

One Word, Downsize. There is only one of you, so get rid of all of the cars, hummer, toys, and animals and replace with Tesla P100D. Keep the Sport Cruiser but date less maintenance intensive women. Yoga "Hum" Better yet, replace the sport cruise with a Carbon Cub and go back country flying, Become one with nature!

Richard, that's exactly the rationalization I used when I bought my first airplane! Of course, in the late 70s, it was true. Between investment tax credit and double-declining balance accelerated depreciation, our rich Uncle ended up paying half the cost of my old Beechcraft. (Thank you, fellow taxpayers.)designrs wrote: (that actually worked well for tax purposes, as I legitimately used it for business and there were awesome tax incentives.)
Those days are, sadly, gone now.

My tax credit was 50% immediate accelerated depreciation (with carryover years) in 2008.drseti wrote:Richard, that's exactly the rationalization I used when I bought my first airplane! Yeah, me too. Sez the guy who owns 2 motorcycles in a place that rains a lot and only has 3 or 4 months a year of decent riding weather!designrs wrote:Hmmm.... Ha I am pretty much the opposite ... I didn’t even own a car until recently - my wife did so we had one but I was commuting to Chicago downtown via Metra for something like 15 years ... now I own a plane and a car ( new job ) but I see no motorcycles or boats in my future ...

... oh, I had 2 powerboats too. Forgot about them... they were my “therapy.”
I guess I just push hard.
