Ok so the day this becomes sport pilot eligible I'm plunking down my money and buying it:

If that’s a Lancair, you’d better stay proficient. Many have come to grief in them, they do not have “docile” stall/spin characteristics...

That’s an early one - with 55 knots stall speed and 140 knots max speed not that much different than say Arion Lightning XS.

But yeah, these are not the type of planes to buzz around or be doing some low level sightseeing ...

Cool looking plane, but my first thought was how miserable the view downward would be.

Really? 1685 max gross and retractable landing gear suggest otherwise.

Looks to me about the same as SportCruiser or Arion Lightning ... not great but manageable.
Of course, if you measuring stick is your Sky Arrow then well, that’s a not just a different ball game but different ballpark ...

It is Lancair 235 and the numbers I mentioned are “factory” numbers for that plane but since it is an experimental , who knows ...

You can say that, but with thousands of hours flying pipeline patrol in a low wing airplane I never found it to be an issue. I was always looking forward and down, and if I needed to see something closer I would circle. When the wings are banked they are not in the way.

Not comfortable for long trips, but fast as all get out.
Some consider them to be the Martin Marauder of home builts.

Flew one, it's a handful unless you nail the airspeed and are out ahead of the plane!!!
