Plane nosed over after a hard landing my old airport. Crosswinds were around 15 kts and may have contributed. Both occupants were uninjured.

Now that is an embarrassing landing at KTKI. I use to fly out of McKinney with the Texans Flying Club. I’m sure the Control Tower enjoyed seeing some excitement. My first Emergency Landing was done at McKinney. My Flight instructor did the PreFlight on the Cessna 120 we were going to fly, because I was running late driving from Dallas. We got in the plane and started doing Touch & Goes, on my second take off as we left the runway at the far south end, as I was climbing out the engine sputtered & died, at about 100 ft off of the runway with about 500 feet of runway left. I got stopped in the field on the South end of the runway. That was the last time I flew with that instructor. He said he did the preflight, but he failed to check for fuel in the tank. He just looked at the old Mechanical Float Gauges F & E are side by side, and the tank was empty, the gauge was wrapped all the way to point to F. I learned a valuable lesson that day. If you are going flying, alway do your own preflight.
