I thought your CTLSi had dual Dynon Skyviews.CTLSi wrote:SportPilot doesn't own an aircraft and is a 'sport pilot' which means he is stuck down low, and slow.SportPilot wrote:This guy's a brand new, low time, private pilot flying around at 120k VFR in a light sport. I own a Flight Design CTLSi, fuel injected, full Garmin glass cockpit and have put 210 hours in the plane (I ordered it new loaded with ADS-B, integrated AutoPilot, and the AERA 796/GPS/WAAS).
Oh, and yes, I am a PP-SEL in the midst of instrument training. And I have flown up to 17,500 (not in the CTLSi of course).
My next aircraft will either be the Flight Design C4 with a 165KTAS cruise and a ceiling of 17,900. Or if Flight Design doesn't get it by Q4 of 2015, then I am lining up a fully pressurized Lancair Evolution with a 350hp Lycoming iE2 (dual turbo, fuel injected) that will achieve 280KTAS cruise and have a ceiling of FL28.
I will be flying above the weather. And SportPilot will be struggling to scrape up $100 bucks to rent someone else's LSA to fly around the patch. Or until he just quits trying to go back up entirely and sits on these boards instead, like a couple of the other guys we won't name.

Guys,
Could you please refrain from quoting blocks of text from a certain someone that add nothing to a discussion and only serve to boast and belittle?
The ignore function works as designed, but like a real car wreck it's hard not to look when a car wreck of a post is quoted en toto.
Thanks in advance.

One of the things I love about my CTSW is that if I need to "get somewhere" I can cruise near 120kt all day long and make pretty good time. BUT, a lot of my time is spent sightseeing in the local area, and that is much more fun at 80kt and 1000-2000ft AGL. The low level bumps are manageable at that speed even in the middle of a hot day, and you can actually see what's going on down below.dcotton wrote: Funny, all my commercial/high hour friends say the exact opposite. They really, really want to go low and slow.
"Low and Slow baby, its the only way to go" was a recent quote by a friend with over a hundred thousand hours.
Guess it is all a matter of perspective.

An Evolution will hand you your ass. Just a prediction.CTLSi wrote: My next aircraft will either be the Flight Design C4 with a 165KTAS cruise and a ceiling of 17,900. EDIT: Sorry for the quote guys, I stuck it in before reading the requests. Won't happen again.

I'm sorry if it bothers you, but a reply doesn't always make sense that way. This reply to this post is a good example.FastEddieB wrote:Guys,

Actually you are flying under sport pilot privileges, but you are still a ATP, commercial, private, or recreational pilot.CTLSi wrote:No. You are flying as a sport pilot. And therefore are stuck in an LSA (130KTAS top speed, 10K feet AGL). Whatever you were, like a few others stuck unable to pass the 3rd class AME exam are no longer able to fly the larger planes and that is the real issue, isn't it?SportPilot wrote:Actually, I'm Commercial S&MEL, Instrument, Certified Flight Instructor S&ME, Advanced and Instrument Ground Instructor. What I find odd? You claim to have some deep aviation knowledge, yet I have not seen a single post you have made on this site or over at CTFLIER that reflects or offers any of that expertise to others. Why are you coming to these sites?
Medicals are required for the type of operation you are doing, and not what pilot certificate you hold. Take a look at the chart at the bottom of CFR 61.23. http://www.ecfr.gov/cgi-bin/text-idx?SI ... 3&rgn=div8
