Bill, Yes landings are the hardest part. Yes use the advice above, get away from the high stress airport so you can focus on landings. I have found 2 specific ways to get around this common problem. First, do low approaches with the wheels just above the runway. This helps you get the "picture&...

SSDriver, Yes finding the best study materials with all the options is tough. I advise people on a daily basis of what to get. Some like books. Others want videos. Some want to study for the written knowledge first. Others want to avoid this as long as possible. As far as the knowledge test, we all ...

Yes what is said about the student looking at the instruments is a problem. Why? because the after evaluating all the LSA airplane models for flight training, plus looking at the X-Plane and Microsoft Simulator X Cessna 172 models, it has been most interesting to note my biggest challenge of using t...

Anyone looking for good flight instruction has come to the right place. The “vocal” flight instructors on this web site are the best. They say it plus back it up. For the list of instructors that qualify go to www.BeASportPilot.com If you want a vacation out west, not the cheapest, come fly with me ...

There is plenty you can learn from simulator flying that applies directly to flying the airplane. No 0 g's, no 2 G's i n a 60 degees bank turn. But plenty of turn to headings, maintain altitude/airspeed, checklists for procedures. Great way to learn. My students love it when the weather is not good ...

Dave, I have heard what you say from many and incorporated it into my training syllabus over the years. I tell people it is a cookbook. Add the correct ingredients, cook at a predetermined temperature, and the results are spectacular. All training syllabus are modified/customized for people/weather/...

FAA certified flight instructors are required to have a training syllabus for an efficient and effective system. This lets you know where you are, where you need to go and what are the standards of performance. This is one question asked in my suggestions at sport-pilot-training web site listed belo...

The Icon is just a different type of airplane for a unique market. It is made for fun and rec not to go cross country. Yes I would imagine they will have a challenge to trim the weight but they have quite the engineering team. If they can pull it off, I feel they will be a huge benefit to us all in ...

Cessna Skycatcher Flight Simulator models up

I most recently have added the Cessna Skycatcher model to the LSA flight simulator models up. One for FSX which is very good and one for X-Plane is OK but still needs work. Does anybody have any experience flying the FSX model and the real Cessna SkyCatcher? It looks and feels pretty good. The FSX i...

Additionally, hearing what qualified/seasoned CFI's DO NOT like about flight simulation for VFR pilots is most helpful for me to find solutions to these questions and/or problems.

I forgot who said "you have to know the problem before you can find the solution" but thankyou for the input.
