Roger, Just as I said above. Simply: in a proficiency check which is performed by the second CFI, there is a flight test which is part of the proficiency check for him to be signed off. No examiner is required. said in a different way: The second CFI must perform a flight check (a proficiency check ...

Re: Glider to LSA

No written or flight testing. He also had to get the over 87 knot speed and the air space/radio sign offs in his logbook. Must be a mistake about no flight test. There is a flight test same which is part of the proficiency check. (a proficiency check is the same as a checkride only it is performed ...

For these sport/private pilot CFIS questions the last place you should ask is your local FSDO. They all have different opinions. I remember calling the FAA in OAK City to answer this exact question and it supports the "other Paul's" understanding that subpart H instructors without a medica...

NO, only checkrides count If they are non current, no current flight review, that have to get one in a glider before the proficiency check, or after the proficiency chec...

It is all about the view out the window. Once you figure this out it which is half the "game" it usable. I ended up getting a Saitek throttle which makes the throttle control exactly like my real airplane and this has made a big improvement also. see the picture at the bottom of the page: ...

There have been a few new questions added to the pool but there is no "big scare" and the big numbers quoted I have heard is not correct. If you have a proper ground school and you study for the test you will be fine. Here is my take on ground school: http://sport-pilot-training.com/catego...

There is a big misunderstanding about what a sport pilot is. Instructors please read the PTS introduction the FAA has required the examiners and CFI's to administer. If any one is training someone and recommending them to the examiner for a checkride at the "novice" level, this needs to be...
