Re: TL Ultralight Stingsport
JJay, thanks again for the pics. I had a friend make me a couple spacers from Derlin 3/4" round stock. Perfectly drilled for the 8mm bolts, no slop like my previously installed spacers. They work great. I installed all fasteners with blue Loktite as recommended in the AMM. Looks like the previo...

Re: TL Ultralight Stingsport
The pics are great.
I'll get them to my machinist and see what we can come up with.
Thank you!

Stingsport Wheel Pant Spacer
Fellow Sting owners, I'm looking for pics, dimensions and information for the MLG wheel pant spacer, AMM Fig 7.24.
I'm pretty sure the one I have is not correct and whatever I had on the other side has departed the aircraft.
Thanks

I think that's a good decision considering you'll probably have no issues exceeding TBO.
Curious to know what was "not to spec."

Re: TL Ultralight Stingsport
I have talked with a DAR and started the ball rolling to E-LSA. I sent him pdf's of the logbooks and made an account on AWC.FAA.GOV as he requested. He also needs to see the weight and balance along with an equipment list. I now need to acquire the appropriate placards; EXPERIMANTAL & “PASSENGER...

I check in everyday hoping for something interesting to be posted.
I, on the other hand rarely have interesting things to post.

Re: 2024 Starts tomorrow...
My first SnF, the wife and I were there Friday and Saturday. The Saturday night airshow was quite impressive. Best we'd ever seen. Talked with most of the LSA manufacturers and looked at a few kits. Don't know if I'll ever be able to afford something new but it's nice to see what I might get used in...

Re: TL Ultralight Stingsport
Where did you get the OAT probe? Does it have a make/model? I ordered the probe from Aero Performance. I had two choices for the OAT probe. One that works with the GRT EIS or one that works with the AV-30. I went with the AV-30 OAT probe (Davtron C307PS) which gives me OAT, density altitude and TAS...

Stingsport Fuel Flow Transducer
Hello all, I am wanting to install the FT-60 Red Cube fuel transducer. I'd appreciate a pic or two of how the other stings have them installed. Location, fuel hose routing etc. If you can't post here feel free to pm me for my email. I did get the OAT probe installed and it is working as expected. Ha...

StingSport tires & OAT probe
TIRES: StingSport owners, what tires are you using? I noticed drdehave (Sting Flight) was using the Kenda Loadstar. My plane came with Deestone DS7251's (D901) on the mains and a 15-year-old Continental LB 3.5-8 46J on the nose. I spooned on a new set of Deestone DS7251's and it was no easy task. D...

Re: Rainbow Aviation LSRI course
I'll be taking the Rainbow Aviation LSRI course in a couple weeks.
I don't anticipate seeing Brian or Carol there.
The email states, "there are no prerequisites" and they suggest a video or two on their YouTube.
Besides a notepad, what would you suggest I bring along with me?
Thanks, Tim

Update October 1, 2023
This thread should have photos. I may add them later. First oil change after annual (20hrs) revealed more lead than preferred in oil tank. I'll use more Decalin, 1 oz per 10 gallons as opposed to .5 oz. The GRS/BRS window and grommet were "secured" with many small strips of packing tape an...
