Gobosh 700, SLSA to ELSA
I received my ELSA AWC today. The DAR-T with Function code 157 was Steven Huff. I will go to a Rainbow Aviation course soon to gain the ability to do my own condition inspections.
Mr. Huff works out of the Scottsdale FSDO and is available in the greater Phoenix area.

Re: Cruise engine RPM
Thanks. I'll check WOT engine RPM on the next flight.
There appears to be quite a bit to learn about this little engine.

Cruise engine RPM
I have to admit my ignorance.....again! Although I have significant experience operating Lycoming and Continental engines I have exactly 32 hours of Rotax 9 series experience. I find that my 2009 Gobosh 700 flies at about 100 knots, using 4.8 GPH, at about 4900 engine RPM. It is a comfortable ride a...

Re: 912 ULS2-01
Thanks Paul, Going to switch this week. The mechanic that installed my new engine put in Evans because that was the only "approved" coolant in the POH of my 2009 SLSA Gobosh. It seems clear to me that, here in moderately warm Phoenix, the reduced thermal transfer capability of waterless co...

912 ULS2-01
I have a new 912 ULS2-01 installed in my Gobosh. The mechanic who installed my engine used Evans Waterless coolant. I am going to drain it and fill with an approved coolant. 1. What is the optimum coolant? 2. Do modern coolants have surfactants? I've heard horror stories about how critical it is to ...

Re: Engine oil substitute
Well, SkyGeek says they have shipped my case of Sport plus 4. Pretty spendy, but at least I'll get it. The web site shows about 50 cases in stock.

Re: Engine oil substitute
Well, Calvert oil in Buckeye, Aircraft Spruce, Chief, and L.E.A.F. have all backordered AeroShell Sport Plus 4. they all said 4 to 8 weeks before it comes in.
SkyGeek said they had it in stock so I ordered a case. Hopefully they really had it.

Re: Engine oil substitute
Thank you. I always feel bad asking these types of questions because I know they've been asked before......often.
Right now my distributor, Aircraft Spruce, Chief, and others are out of stock re: Sport plus 4

Engine oil substitute
My distributor in Buckeye AZ doesn't have Aeroshell Sport 4 in stock and is having trouble finding it right now.
I know it's been discussed, ad infinitum, but what is a good substitute? I use 100LL fuel.

Re: Gobosh fuel
Thanks for the reply Paul. For folks that are accustomed to Lycoming and Continental engines and 100LL fuel, this stuff can be.............interesting. I keep reading about how bad 100LL is for 9 series engines and many of the airframes; but then simultaneously read about how bad E10 is. Confusing d...

Gobosh fuel
Hi, I'm trying to find out if E10 auto fuel is safe to use in the Gobosh. I've read the appropriate Rotax documentation and it is clear E10 is okay for this particular engine. I know the Gobosh has a composite tank. I'm trying to determine if this composite tank is adversely affected by E10. Thanks,...
