Well, for an old guy that didn't really know how to study in high school, I don't think that a 93% is too bad on the SIA/CFI-S written. :D

You won't need luck, Marshall. I'm sure you're going to ace it!

Re: Bristell NG5 Taildragger Option

I need to do a trip report on that "adventure" some time. I think you just did, Marshall! LOL, I didn't tell you all about the people at the Spanish Forks airport that invited us home with them for the night, and to join them in the birthday party for their son, who'd just gotten h...

Re: Bristell NG5 Taildragger Option

I found my RANS S-6ES to be surprisingly comfortable, and I'm certainly in the "Big Guy" category (5'11" and 280-lbs). The 45" cabin width and Oregon Aero seats help a lot, but the "stick and rudder" ergonomics are really good. They are light-years better than my previ...

Re: Oklahoma Enthusiast

Good afternoon Champguy. You are in luck for sure. I'm 62 years old, live in Oklahoma City on a private airport (Twin Lakes 2OK2) just SE of Tinker about 6 miles. I'm going tomorrow afternoon to take my CFI-S written test. With any luck, I should have my instructor's cert by April or May. I currentl...

Re: Upset recovery training

I've played enough aviation video games that I no longer reflexively pull back when I'm inverted, at least when I'm sitting still in a comfortable chair in front of a screen in 1G. I don't know how I'd react in the real world but at least I have some muscle memory to help me. Also is it even possib...

Re: Finally!!

Hi all you wonderful people. I finally am able to move forward with a life long dream, it only took me 56 years:) Any how I will be pursuing my sport pilot license as I can not qualify for a private pilot license. I am looking to purchase an aircraft that fits my intended mission. I like to go long...

Re: CFI-S Knowledge test prep

I did the FOI first like you, and then I spent a few months studying for the AGI and CFI-S at the same time. The remainder of this post is copy/pasted from my talk I gave at Oshkosh about prepping for the CFI-S exams: To study for the written exams, I mainly used the ASA Instructor test prep book f...

Re: Back to work?

I work for UGE (Unnamed Government Entity). Despite being worked like a rented mule, the teleworking has been great. I had a bit of a commute before all this, but have been able to trade in commuting time to studying to take the Sport Pilot Written test! I've been studying for my Sport CFI written ...

Anyone here have any "scoop" on the Rans S6S? Anybody have one or has had one? I'm contemplating buying one.
