Re: Rules enforcement?

I have my medical and PPL. I got my CFI-S in April and have been instructing a student since then. I don't have a commercial or instrument rating, but, I haven't been charging her anything either.
So, my question is, can she log these hours as instructed hours?

I have a C-150. I'm hanging on to it anyway, in case we get surprised.

Re: Available CFI

I checked on insurance last week. Just for CFI insurance, liability as an instructor only, was about $300.00. If I remember correctly, that also included $25,000.00 "renters insurance". None of my airplanes will be rentals. Don't think of it as renters insurance, but rather non owned insu...

Available CFI

Just as well throw this out there. If anyone in, or around the Oklahoma City area is in need of a Sport CFI, I'm available. :D I'm not in this just for the hours/time, I don't need it. I'm 62 years old, had my PPL since 1977. I'm NOT going to the airlines as soon as I hit a "magic number"....

Re: Written passed

Checkride passed!!! I became a Sport CFI April 18, 2021. Care to give us a writeup of the checkride? Interested to see how one goes. Sure. I'm a 44 year private pilot with about 1100 hours, and I live in Oklahoma City, OK. It all started in June when I took the FOI test. Then I got the study materi...

Re: Demo Flights For Relatives

61.315 (c) (10) covers charitable airlifts. That is where someone makes a charitable donation donation in exchange for a ride, whether the pilot receives compensation or not. Young Eagles rides are donated by the pilot. The person taking the rides does not pay or make a donation of any kind. It is ...

Re: Demo Flights For Relatives

This may be irrelevant to the OP's question, but Jim raised a question in my mind. I'm a CFIS in training.
OP says "relatives" Jim is talking about YE's. In my mind, FAR 61.315 (c) (10) says SP can't fly YEs. :?:

Sam wrote: Sat Mar 27, 2021 9:38 pm So my new to me plane (Evektor Sportstar) has green coolant in the system. From what I was told it was previously drained and filled with green automotive antifreeze.

If unsure, I'd for SURE change it. Call it CHEAP insurance.

I think getting a few hours in the airplane, before taking the written, makes the written a little easier. You have a better understanding of some of the questions.
