Can we still donate? I'd be honored to send $30 via venmo. Call it a patreon kick starter.

Take action! MOSAIC Comment period
There are a some super intelligent folks here that can better convey why limiting to 1 pax or 54 knot VS1 is too limited. Can we get someone to eloquently write a letter so we all can speak with one voice to the FAA? My gun club has a lawyer that drafts letters for members to submit to legislators s...

Not an LSA but still fun!
I still read the posts here as they are very informative even though I'm pursuing my PPL. The 4 forces are the same whether an LSA or a 747. A particular shout out to Paul and Shawn (from scflier) for being exceptionally helpful. So in my journey, which was put on hold since COVID shut down my fligh...

Re: Aviation financial advisors in CA?
Yeah I'm a little militant about debt. I just know when you borrow money it is akin to slavery. I'd make a terrible slave. I did borrow money for a truck in 2015 but that was only because the price was cheaper if I financed it..... What crazy world do we live in when cars are cheaper when you borrow...

Re: Aviation financial advisors in CA?
Shawn is great resource for advice and information. Here is my advice and understand that I have nowhere near the knowledge of others here. I am however a real finance guy but please understand that this is not financial advice. 1) define your mission with your plane. a. Fun burning holes in the sky...

Re: New guy from CT
HI Unclefish, I'm from CT too. I live in middlefield but was training out of 4B9 (simsbury)prior to COVID. Being a remote worker now I'm going to probably restart training at KHFD with learn2flyCT along side Jeremy but in their piper.... although I really want some left seat time in the LSA. I thoug...

Re: Student solo rules
Roger that. I'm not interested in flying without any guidance from a CFI. But once I'm signed off and we (CFI) and I establish very conservative minimums I would really like to refine what I have learned. In fact, Paul I have a business idea for you. ***This will not count towards hours*** just mean...

Student solo rules
Once I get signed off to solo am I able to jump in my own plane and practice when I want? Obviously only at airports I've been signed off at. The reason I ask is in interviewing new flight schools one owner said they only want students flying when someone (CFI) is at the airport. My hope is to launc...

Re: Light sport dying?
Believe me I wanted nothing more than to fly that day. Winds were calm Vis was unlimited, no traffic in the pattern..... Made me think, would I have made the decision to park it if it were mine? I hope so.
WWPD (What Would Paul Do) is always in my head.

I keep wanting to take pic's or video when training but I'm a little busy trying to drink from the fire hose of information.

Re: Light sport dying?
Hey Everyone, it has been a bit since I posted. I started my PPL in March and I'm not sure if you heard about this Corona thing but it sent us all home as remote workers. since then I've been a remote employee and a school teacher because of a remote 9 year old. Now that he is back in school the I w...
