Re: Going down to Florida for training
Sounds good 1/2. I Will be heading down to start training on Saturday. Going to be '"drinking from the proverbial fire hose"'. 8 straight days of flying sometimes twice a day with the check ride scheduled for the last day. I will be the short bearded Italian guy wearing square aviators. Th...

Going down to Florida for training
I've decided that getting my sport ticket in Georgia is going to be damn near impossible. My CFI had major surgery and cant fly for a long while. The only other place that offers LSA training is down to one plane (the other one was just destroyed in a storm on the tarmac) plus it is a 1 1/2hr drive ...

Re: Checkride Scheduled
I am serously considering just giving up on the whole sport pilot ticket and switching over to PPL. There were only 3 LSA's for rent here in Atlanta. One of them, a Skycatcher, was destroyed on the tarmac the other day during a violent storm. So that leaves only 2. The other LSA has been crashed lan...

Re: Error on my test results
I have to agree with you guys. I heard back from quite a few CFI's and they all say the same thing. Just leave it alone and study the PLT codes for the questions missed. My CFI is the only one that is recomending that I take it again. Perhaps it is because I studied and took the test a few weeks bef...

Re: Error on my test results
The consensus seems to be to leave it alone and roll with it. My CFI on the other hand recommends taking it over. He says the DPE that he uses will undoubtedly look at the score and make the oral an ordeal. He is vey experienced and I respect his viewpoint a great deal. It bears mentioning that I se...

Error on my test results
Im in the middle of my flight training and decided to go back over my knowledge test results to have a look at the PLT codes. Ever since I received my score of 78 I thought something was wrong. I studied hard and was consistently scoring in the 90's on all my practice exams. I came in fully prepared...

Re: My owners manual says never to stall the plane
Yes its an fk-9. The manaul does say one of the dangers of zero G is fire due to the carbs. on the Rotax. So am I to understand that now in training we are not really required to do a full stall but initiate a recovery just before the break?
