Re: TL Ultralight Stingsport

For the red cube installation make sure to follow their instruction and install it dowstream of a gascolator. Last year when i was installing a new avionics package my mechanic ended up installing it upstream ( right under the fuel selector in the cabin cause it was convenient )and after about 3 hou...

Re: Hello from Sydney Australia

Welcome. There are about 150+ Sting owners here in US and there are no specialized forums for that plane so I tend to hang out here or on other LSA like forums ( https://www.ctflier.com/ for CTLS , https://www.scflier.com/ for SportCruiser owners etc ) Also , the old TL Ultralight dealer ( he no lon...

Re: TL Ultralight Stingsport

My GRS window cracked a few years back in a cold ( really cold ) weather - seems to be a bit of design problem as I have seen same style crack on a factory plane at Oshkosh.

Re: If Cars Transitioned Without Full Touchscreens

I like technology when it makes sense … just upgraded my avionics stack and i think it is a nice mixture of modern and some legacy backup instruments.

Re: 5 Year Rubber Replacement?

In my opinion, omitting a hose replacement at 5 years is false economy, regardless of legalities. Consider the possible consequences of a hose failure: (1) coolant hose - if you lose all the dexcool, you need to reduce power immediately to 4000 RPM, set up slow flight, and limp to the nearest airpo...

I was sitting by her side, holding her hand, when Muriel breathed her last breaths. I can only imagine it must be very, very hard to have to face loosing someone who has been by your side since , well since forever .. but I hope when it is my time to go I would go the way you described, with my lov...

Try this … https://sting.aero/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/Elev-Trim-Cable-Adj.pdf ..and congratulations - I have been flying my Sting S4 since 2017 with 500+ hours and it has been pure joy. Btw, looks like this forum is closing so you may want to hangout at https://www.ctflier.com/. - it is for fligh...

Re: Hal effect current sensor

Sorry missed your responses … took my only 5 months to respond hahaha I got everything working the way Shawn outlined - I was completely changing my panel ( EFIS and radio from dead TruTrak EFIS to the latest GRT ) and the new EFIS/EMS manual was suggesting different setup- ultimately I did not like...

Re: TL Ultralight Stingsport

I have a 2009 Sting that I will be listing soon for a customer. I just completed an extensive condition inspection. The airplane only has 130 hours since new, and it shows. It is very well equipped. I don’t get it .. people pay 100k+ to buy a plane that they then fly maybe a dozen hours per year ?

Re: Skyleader 600

I did look into that plane back in 2017 but the biggest, issue imho is very small number of planes registered in US - there are total of 5 planes according to FFA record … If I were to order a Czech low wing , for purely practical reasons, I would go for something that has significant presence in thi...

Re: Someone using my tail number?

Jeremy Knoll who runs Bushcat dealership and who I go for my annual ( who also became a dealer for TL ultralight planes recently ) wanted to buy my plane from me after my last annual in October.

Not sure if he is interested in S4 only though …
