Re: Czech Aircraft Work (CAW) files for bankruptcy - Sportcruise

The writing was on the wall 2-3 years ago.
Mismanaged to the hilt.
Absolutely terrible (as in 'none') customer support.
It's really too bad . . . because it is a really good looking airplane.

Quite a while back, I heard that same information . . . cranking the engine that way is a bad thing.

Re: Flying With Dog

Question:

For those of you who have used the Mutt Muffs or similar, have their use caused any ear complications on the animals? I suspect the muffs would cause more perspiration in the ear canals, which would increase the likelihood of ear infection.
Just wondering.

Re: Flying With Dog

Baxter, my previous golden retriever, used to fly in the back seat of my 172. He loved to fly, and would get excited when we got a block or two from the airport. He literally jumped into the back seat raring to go. Sadly, Jason my current golden, gets motion sick; I'd be afraid to take him up in my...

Re: Cost of maintenance of a C-162

I paid $1795 for my GDL-82 and love it. I can only imagine what Cessna charged for their "kit". The GDL-82 is a beautiful unit. The ease of install is amazing. It took me a couple of hours working alone to get it all up and running, with a perfect PAPR report. I did cheat and buy ...

Re: Soft Start Conversion - flywheel or no flywheel

. . . . . One of the guys on the CT Forum did the Netherlands repair. He was very happy with it, but he sold the airplane shortly after the repair so I don't know if we'll ever get the long term report on that. Having paid the $2000 for new modules, I would definitely consider the repaired modules ...

. . . . Oh Bill, I'm not at all bothered by our conversations, no thin skin or ruffled feathers here. I loved our back and forth, good conversation. I was just pointing out that you saw it as very negative for so long and now you are experimental and seems to love it. I will admit . . I w...

Re: 2007 AMD 601XLB for sale

. . . . . seeing Bill write what he did surprises me. Ask him about going experimental just a year ago and you would have gotten a different answer. Seems like just yesterday he and I would go round and round about going experimental, he was totally against it for so long. I don't think that is qui...
