I've flown the Sigma. It does have great visibility and handles pretty light. Once you set it up to glide in, you almost don't touch the stick again. It's kind of a non-event, which surprised me. I expected it to be very squirrley near the ground. The plane is exactly what you think it is. It flies ...

I trained in Drifter on Full Lotus Floats and found it to be kind of indestructible. The floats have that rare ability to sort of slide without digging in and flipping. The poly-propylene surface lasts a long time and never looked all that good to begin with, so if you scratch them up, no one notices.

David, As a CFI Sport, I get folks with training like yours fairly often and can tell you to plan on minimum 15 - 20 hours split between dual and solo work. You are no doubt, going to "remember" almost everything you learned but need time to get comfortable and proficient before even think...

I fly a Cape Town which is an amphib (floats) not a flying boat, like the Sea Max. The Sea Max is assembled right down from my house at Wallaby Ranch and seems like a very nicely put together aircraft. The folks at Sea Max are certainly very nice. http://seamaxusa.com/ The Embraer (sp) influence is ...

I fly the Valor. It's over in paradise city and in the commercial side near the EAA tent, kind of behind the Terrafuego.
It's fun, roomy and bright and shiny.
Look me up in paradise city.

From the standpoint of economy of cost, STOL, slow flight capability, grass / hard surface runways, visibility, comfort and dependability, I recommend the A-22 Valor, made in Sebring , Florida. It is quick but not fast, uses very little runway, is fairly comfortable and has unbelievable visibility. ...

I have to say that Cessna is really pushing the envelop with their claims about this aircraft. Though, I imagine, there will plenty of LEAD in the paint, as it comes out of China. It is incomprehensible to me, that Cessna would compromise their good name by moving this project to the people's republ...

The 914 doesn't really seem to perform all that well in higher humidity. I am not a mechanic and have only typed something a mechanic told me, once, when I inquired about buying one.

Looking at it, I can imagine needing to fly nose partially down to level the wings. Was it much, or just slightly?
Gotta say it stops me every time I walk past it at the shows.
