Re: 912ULS stumbles on climb-out
First, check for debris in the float bowl, not uncommon after a hose change. Second, verify that fuel pressure is not dropping off when power is added. Third, not sure how your set up is, but check that the vent tubes are pulling air from the same source. Fourth, if you can reach a finger in the fil...

Re: Carb Sync Cost?
If you know what you are doing, and it is not some oddball installation. It shouldn't take more than 15 minutes, and maybe even less. Now if there is a carb issue causing the imbalance it will that longer. I had one recently, that was idling to fast, and was having trouble adjusting. Then I noticed ...

Re: Sky Ranger insurance
As an aside on insurance, I know that some companies have regional underwriters. This can create a situation where the same airplane quoted from different regions can have a significant difference in price. Just something to consider.

Re: E-LSA with new prop: Re-enter Phase 1?
I suppose the conservative course of action would be to contact the FSDO and confirm it. There is a good chance they won't know. It all boils down to what your operating limitations say. If you do go back into phase one flight testing you will likely need to change the geographical location of the ...

Also the time duration may be less for a ELSA compared to a EAB LSA.

Re: E-LSA with new prop: Re-enter Phase 1?
This has been a discussion on an other forum I follow. My opinion is that yes it constitutes a major change, but we can dig a little deeper. Is the diameter or weight of the propellers different? If the answer is yes, then I say it is a major change. If they are the same then it could be considered ...

Yep, and they will process the extension almost immediately, but there is still a backlog for original issue registrations.

Re: Sutdent Pilot Certificate processing time
Did you have someone from the FSDO, a DPE, or a CFI complete their part of the application?

Re: Sutdent Pilot Certificate processing time
You should be able to log into your account and print a temporary certificate after just a few days. It will take quite a while before you will gwet the plastic hard copy.

Re: LSA Maintainer rating
Semantics, Tom. CFR 65.83 refers to mechanics . An LSRM is a repairman . (But I'll ask the Carpenters for an interpretation, just to be sure.) PS: in support of my interpretation, § 65.81 refers specifically (and separately) to certificated mechanics and certificated repairmen . § 65.83 does not me...

Re: LSA Maintainer rating
The LSRM rating, once earned, is yours forever - no FAA currency requirements (actually, this is true of the A&P rating as well. Only the IA, DAR, DER, DPE, and CFI certificates require renewal every two years, with training and currency requirements). Paul, you might want to take a look at CFR...

Re: Woodcomp Overhaul
The Sensenich is a good prop. I've not used there pin system for adjusting blade pitch, but the ones I measured that used it were off more than I would like. I have a fixture with a digital level that I use for adjusting prop pitch. I can normally get them within 1/10th of a degree, if not dead on. ...

Re: Woodcomp Overhaul
Personally I am not a fan of the Warpdrive propellers. In my opinion they are too heavy, and not good for the Rotax gearbox. In flight observationon on a CT was that the performance was not as good, an opinion echoed by another CT owner. Not long ago I instelled a E Prop on a CT. Overall I was reall...

Re: 912 ULS fuel pressure
The return lines primary purpose is to allow vapot to escape from the top of the fuel system on top of the engine.
I have never seen a fuel pressure regulator on a 912ULS installation.
