Re: Aircraft purchase "Short List"
Edit: Congrats on your buy!! SportCruiser / PiperSport: I agree with ShawnM. You would have to plan on going E-LSA. Support evaporated. Great plane though if purchased and pre-buy inspected carefully. There are good aircraft out there, but they might not be the first few that pop up on the ad listin...

Re: 912ULS stumbles on climb-out
Check fuel pressure and that your carb heat is functioning properly. I had a similar problem of stumbling on full throttle when my carb heat was stuck open.

Re: Hello from Florida
Greetings! I’m in Florida too. Florida is absolutely fantastic for VFR Sport Pilot flying. One hour can take you clear across Florida and chances are that you are almost always able to fly home the same day… and not being stuck grounded due to weather. Awesome destinations are Jekyll Island, Spruce ...

Re: Red Bull Skydiving Plane Swap
Every year since the first 737 Max accident… my insurance premiums have gone up at least 20% per year - every year … it stands to reason that they're going to try to recoup their losses from somewhere. It looks as though we GA owners are that "somewhere." It stands to GREED. I’ll be damme...

Re: Red Bull Skydiving Plane Swap
It’s enough to make one think about not having insurance… I have 500+ hours in SportCruiser and not a scratch. Thousands paid in insurance. My chances of crashing a Boeing 737 Max is zero percent. I don’t currently own a plane, but I’ll be dammed if I’m going to pay for someone else’s risk. I’d be t...

Re: ForeFlight TFR question
Hi David! Red TFR is active on ForeFlight. It is very weird if you saw it in red before it was supposedly active.

Re: Adding a Parachute to an Evektor SportStar or Czech Sport Cruiser
Bristells generally come pre-wired for a chute if the plane is not equipped with one. I have never seen that on a SportCruiser either.

Re: high fuel pressure question
I personally can vouch for Shayne. He has worked on my SportCruiser a few times in the past. Very knowledgable and thorough and a super nice guy. He did my gearbox overhaul several years ago, swapped out my ignition modules once and re-pitched and balanced my prop once. I would recommend him any da...

Re: high fuel pressure question
Here’s another mechanic reference for you. I don’t know him personally but this was just posted in another forum: “Guys, I just my annual done by Shayne Morris at Avon Park (KAVO) in Florida. It’s ten minute north of Sebring. Shayne is very good with Light Sports in general, and Bristells in particu...

Re: high fuel pressure question
Look, I’m not saying that your A&P is not good. He might be very good, but the problem is if he is not very experienced with Rotax and LSA. Both are specialties which require unique experience and often a different set of tools. Many people on this forum have seen LSAs nickered up by well intent...

Re: high fuel pressure question
Florida is one of the states where it is actually easier to find a good LSRM. I’ll tell you who would be very likely to be able to solve your problem. Lockwood Aviation Sebring, FL ... they are Rotax and LSA specialists who have seen it all. They are not cheep but they are good. I’d try to get your ...

Re: high fuel pressure question
Rotax fuel systems get complicated due to the return line, different hardware, different restricter jets for the return line, Y-connectors and backflow restrictor valves.
Once you rule out electronics, then there is all of this other stuff to look at.
