Out of season, unfortunately, but a rather expensive and dangerous way to harvest an Elk. Fortunately, pilot and passenger are OK.

Crikey!!!!
Pleased to learn the pilot and passenger are OK. Hopefully insurance will allow replacement of the plane?
Now I'm hungry for an elk burger or steak.

Re: Elk Hunting with an RV8?
As much as I grieve with the elks' next-of-kin, I'm very glad the fatalities were not the humans involved. RV-8s are entirely replaceable (though I do admit that one looked especially pretty).

TWO elk!
Clearly they were out to get RV and mount it as a trophy

Re: Elk Hunting with an RV8?
I was only awarded a Repairman's Certificate when I completed my RV8.
I forgot to request the hunting license!
Man...what a bad day, but at least the humans are OK.

Now that is going to be one log book entry!
Given the amount of damage, I am surprised the Cessna is still so well aligned with the runway.
