That makes perfect sense to me. I'm glad you're hanging in there.TimTaylor wrote:Once I get a new Flight Review and pay another year's insurance, I can simply play it month to month and continue flying as long as I fly enough to stay safe and don't feel like I'm simply burning through money for no logical purpose.

Re: Hanging Up My Wings
Just got home from another successful and fun flight in the SkyCatcher. This time was for a $303 pimento cheese sandwich at KGMU. I took my Mooney friend with me, so we departed with 18 gallons (3/4 tanks) and added 6 gallons before starting home. I prefer not to get below 1/2 tanks. Had to dodge a few rain showers flying back into KGVL, but not a problem.

Had a fun flight today in the Remos GX. Flew from KHKY to BQ1 and back for a $286 BBQ plate. I try to fly the Remos whenever my wife and I are in NC visiting relatives.

Which model Remos? I recently did a flight in a G3 600.
Re: Hanging Up My Wings
It's a 2009 GX. It's an OK little airplane and pretty well equipped.

$375 cheeseburger and banana pudding today at KFQD. It might not have been worth the price were it not for the pudding.

Good to hear Tim. It’s very depressing here in the northeast, nothing but low ceilings and mist or rain. I sat in my hanger with my wonder dog and ate a sandwich the Mrs made me. Oh and I updated my G3X’s software. Total cost for the day $0.

Well, you got pretty expensive taste ...TimTaylor wrote:$375 cheeseburger and banana pudding today at KFQD. It might not have been worth the price were it not for the pudding.
I am currently sitting at Oshkosh , came here for a weekend EAA course on how to work/fix composites.
Was hoping to fly in but there was a weekend long TFR for some kind of air show so ended up with a 3 hours drive hehe...

Re: Hanging Up My Wings
OK, once again, I'm going to try to break this crazy, expensive flying habit. Now that I have a fresh flight review, one-year paid insurance, and one-year paid iFly subscription, I will see if I can taper down my flying during the next year. We'll see.

Thanks Jim. Good luck with your chemo. I went through that in 2011. Six rounds of CHOP and six rounds of Rituxan, followed by 8 rounds of maintenance Rituxan over a 2 year period. Just waiting to do it again. I was supposed to be dead by 2012, but I fooled them.
