My good friend, Mark B was kind enough to fly the RV12 to Maine on short notice when we finally got a good day,
Mark had a great day to fly on Tue, it was cool, low winds, and great visiblity. A few pics of Mark arriving to KBST before tucking her in for the night in the Hanger.
Thanks again to Mark B for bring 25DV up with short notice.

The only gotcha might be insurance. My insurance requires pilots to be named on the policy, or have 300hrs total and 25hrs in type to be covered, IIRC.SportPilot wrote:This got me thinking. Can Sport Pilots ferry LSA for free if they pay their own expenses for food, motel, and airfare to get home? I have a boatload of Delta frequent flyer miles if anyone needs my help moving your LSA. I'm available almost any time.

My insurance policy says any qualified pilot with 10 hours in make & model.MrMorden wrote:The only gotcha might be insurance. My insurance requires pilots to be named on the policy, or have 300hrs total and 25hrs in type to be covered, IIRC.
It's an issue. For example, my post annual test flight with Paul.
Even though Paul has tremendously more experience than I,
he did not have 10 hours in my make and model. Thus uninsured on my policy.
I flew the test flight with Paul, stressing that I was pilot in command at all times,
although in an actual emergency I might request his assistance.

Re: N25DV is Home
It was easy for me, Mark has a RV12 and was locate where my RV12 was and we are insured with the same company. I just called and added him to my policy. (no increase in rates )SportPilot wrote:It depends on the specific insurance policy and what it requires. The requirements may be different if you have him as a named insured on the policy.

What insurance company David?

Nationair, they have provided me great service and good rates
Re: N25DV is Home
I have a non-owned policy for when I fly other peoples airplanes. It is tied to my commercial policy, and is different from a renters policy.
Re: N25DV is Home
Richard, I'm now up to 9.8 hours logged in your make and model, so still can't be PIC. Guess I should have stretched that test flight a couple of tenths!
