The Tragedy of the Commons underscores a principle which gaming theorists generally understand, but most business (including those in aviation) tend to ignore: where resources are finite, life is not a zero-sum game. Instead of winners and losers, working cooperatively we can end up with all winners (or, if we strategize greedily, all losers). Just as a rising tide lifts all boats, a tsunami can sink them all. Tsunamis of our own making are what we must strive to avoid in the LSA world.
