Hello from IL

Post by New2me »

Hi all,
My name is Chris and I live in Illinois about 60 miles southwest of Chicago. Im interested in getting a pilot cert but am a but overwhelmed at the moment with all the info. This is part of why I decided to join this site. There is not an abundance of instructors here and I would like to get broader opinion/ advise. My intent is to fly ultralight so I plan to head over there and start asking some questions.

No pilot's license needed for ultralights of course, but getting one is a great goal. Several ultralight specific forums out there on the interwebs too.

Or, you could fly light sport aircraft with a Sport Pilot license.
Retired from flying.

I made a detailed post in the Training section. Basically looking for clarification of the different classes and how they work with different equipment. I titled it Cert. Advise.
