A quick intro...I'm a mid 50's guy in Tucson who has decided after about 28 logged hours to forgo the PPL for the sport certificate.
I realize LSA instructors and planes are in very limited supply here but I'm in no hurry and am hoping to fall in with a couple LSA partners or club eventually.
Thanks to all for making this such an informative place...it is much appreciated!

Mr. Nelson (I'm guessing),
Welcome aboard! I'm a big fan of getting the Sport Pilot license first, and then (assuming there are no medical complications) upgrading to Private later. You should be able to find a suitable flight school in the Tucson area.
Best of luck to you. Here's the place to post any questions you may have.

Re: Hi
Nothing wrong with SP license. I got a PP and never renewed my 3rd class. So there...
