Hello, all,
I'm an old private pilot who let his medical lapse many years ago. I've been thinking about getting back in via the sport pilot license. Hope to get to know this forum very well.

Nice to have you aboard, Sandy. We have a bunch of relevant threads for you to browse under Medical Issues. If you haven't flown in a while (or if you haven't flown LSA), you will want a flight review, and should consider transition training. If you want to take a 3-day vacation to Amish country, come up to Lock Haven and fly with me:

There's a really nice B&B just two miles from my office, that gives a generous flight school discount.

Thanks, everyone, for the responses. I had forgotten how tight of a community pilots (and builders) can be. By the way, I live in Youngsville, NC, just north of Raleigh.

If your journeys take you west, feel free to stop by Copperhill, TN. Its only a few miles from NC, but still a "fur piece" from you.
Decent Mexican food in town if that's any incentive!

You never know. I'm always up for Mexican and we go to Boone/Blowing Rock every Thanksgiving.

Hello. I also live in the Raleigh NC area. If you are looking to do some sport pilot instruction, B Bar D Aviation in Sanford NC is a good place; ask for Jim.

Hi too from another sport pilot in SC!! Just south of Charlotte.
There are some great discussions here and some experienced folks who give great insight and advice.
Please let us know how you progress with your sport pilot flying...pilots helping pilots is what it's all about!
Cheers, Howard

Thank you all for the responses. I'll keep you posted on my progress. It will probably be slow at first as I have to get my wife to agree.
