I just got confirmation that Expo is back on for tomorrow (Saturday), on the regular schedule.

I don't know about you guys, but I'm very dissatisfied that they closed the show today. It seems very weak, paranoid and unwarranted. Especially for the pilot community which is supposed to be good at evaluating weather.

Anyone want to comment or post an official position?

It's 2:30 beautiful sunny but a bit windy.
Blue skies right now!

I can only tell you that the decision to close down was made by the airport manager, NOT the Expo staff.

They are under a severe thunderstorm watch. If that is any justification in making the call.

At the Midwest LSA expo they have never shut down because of weather. They do however make sure everything is secure and put away if possible.

Today (Saturday) was very, very windy. Add in temps in the 50s, and it was a tough day to walk around the show.

But still worth it :)

I have been there working the show when the weather was like that. I even remember having to scrape frost one morning. It is not fun.

In terms of the event itself, the show looked just about the same as last year.
Unfortunately the weather was not good for the big days of Friday and Saturday.

Still, it was still possible to connect with everyone and get to see specific interests.
