To locate a flight school offering sport pilot training and/or light-sport aircraft rentals, click on the "Flight School And Rental Finder" tab above. This is a great place to share ideas on learning to fly, flight schools, costs and anything else related to training.

17 Year Old Obtains Sport Pilot License in 29 hours in FDCT

Post by scottj »

LSA North has another licensed Sport Pilot! Kris Halvorson, age 17, successfully completed his FAA Practical exam with Designated Examiner Barbara Mack on June 18, 2008 at the AirLake KLVN airport in a Flight Design CT sw light sport airplane. Kris has been training with flight instructors Scott Johnson, Tyra Cerny, Dan Boerner, and Paul Van Brunt. He completed his Sport Pilot training in just over 29 hours of flight time. His next goal is to complete his Private Pilot training requirements this summer. Kris is a cadet in the Civil Air Patrol Saint Paul MN Squadron where he will share his aviation knowledge and continue his flight training. Kris is an honor student and student athlete at Washburn H.S. in Minneapolis. He has funded his flight training by working nights and weekends at LifeTime Fitness, and washing the occasional airplane for LSA North. Upon graduation from High School next spring, he plans to join the US Navy and become an officer and aviator. Kris has proven what hard work, dedication, and following a dream can accomplish. We are very proud of him.
