Sport Pilot Training Counts for Private Pilot Requirements

The final rule for several Part 61 changes is out. Included is the ability for sport pilot training time provided by sport instructors to count towards private pilot requirements and for a new ability for sport pilot instructors to provide basic instrument instruction provided they have an endorsement to do so.

Also included is the ability for commercial applicants to have 10 hours of Technologically Advanced Aircraft (TAA). My reading is that the split-screen Dynons found in many sport aircraft meet this definition.
