I have my first scheduled flight on Tuesday, April 10th in Chicago. My CFI said we will fly first and then do some ground afterward.
I have prepared as much as one can; having completed my written, obtained my Student Pilot License, and have read the Gleim books cover to cover except the FAR.
I’ll let you know how it goes.

Good Luck! What will you be flying?
Re: Time has finally come
Congrats and have fun! Look outside, get a feel for the airplane, and don’t sweat the small stuff. (The guy in the right seat is there to keep you both safe). And bring a bottle of water to keep in the car. If it’s anything like my experience, I was exhilarated, but once in the car, I drank a full bottle of water from being parched from the excitement of the experience.
Let us know how it goes!

Congrats - they seem to run a fine operation. I'm hoping to gather the needed $$$ to start training there myself.

I am concerned about airsickness and clearing my Eustachian tubes during ascending and descents. I am bringing gum.

Good luck and have fun. My instructor has an Evektor but I never flew it. I trained in my own plane.sportflugzeug wrote:I am concerned about airsickness and clearing my Eustachian tubes during ascending and descents. I am bringing gum.
You'll probably only go to a few thousand feet more than likely, you'll be just fine. Bring the gum if it'll help with nerves.

Guess I should have read the whole thread first. Aw heck, it's early Sunday A.M., I'm old so what else is new. Anyway, same applies. Ride, Rock and Roll (easy on the rolls!) - giddiness is authorized. Interesting monicker- Sportfleugzeug. I lived at the foot of Melibokus for 3 years, a popular hang gliding mountain. The Germans called it "Drachenfleugzeugplatz". Say that 5 times fast!HAPPYDAN wrote:Rock n' Roll, Randy! The sky's the limit!
