Sport aviation is growing rapidly. But the new sport pilot / light-sport aircraft rules are still a mystery to many flight schools and instructors. To locate a flight school offering sport pilot training and/or light-sport aircraft rentals, click on the "Flight School And Rental Finder" tab above. This is a great place to share ideas on learning to fly, flight schools, costs and anything else related to training.

I interpreted this exactly the same way you did. Too bad FAA didn't agree. :( But, glad your flight review went smoothly. :)

Congrats. Did you use a LFC instructor?

Yes, that's the ambiguous part. Approved by whom?

A check airman is for part 135 or the airlines. They are authorized to do checkrides for their company. Whoever was doing the check for the add on was only acting as a CFI, and like you said you can't do a checkride in an airplane which you are not rated.

I had scheduled a flight review for the week before, but got weathered out. Then, someone reminded me that the seaplane rating might work as a flight review and the people at Jack Brown thought it would also. Anyway, I had fun today and it's always good for someone to observe your flying techniques in case some issues creep in. I think Flocker and I have more hours in the two SkyCatchers than anyone who currently works there. He flies out of PDK and I fly out of GVL. I also fly out of 14A in NC.
I heard some one making calls in a skycatcher yesterday for lake norman. I only note this, as it was the first time I have heard from a skycatcher while flying.
