Checkride done...

Sport aviation is growing rapidly. But the new sport pilot / light-sport aircraft rules are still a mystery to many flight schools and instructors. To locate a flight school offering sport pilot training and/or light-sport aircraft rentals, click on the "Flight School And Rental Finder" tab above. This is a great place to share ideas on learning to fly, flight schools, costs and anything else related to training.

Checkride done...

And I flew home with a temporary certificate! Feels pretty good, but it really hasn't sunk in yet. May take a few days.

Well, thanks to Horatio, my reign as the "Newest Sport Pilot in the USA" lasted only about 5 days!
Seriously guys, it's great to see. Keep them coming!

Doesn't that temporary certificate look funny? Mine is just a small signed scrap of a photocopy. It's kind of ironic... all the tight federeral regulations, and then almost a "gentleman's handshake" temporary certificate. Sure feels good, so no complaints! Just sayin'

(Of course there is a boatload of IACRA electronic filing behind that temporary airman certificate!)

Your temporary airman certificate is good for 120 days. You shoud have your permanent certificate in 60 days. If you don't have it by 90 days call your examiner. (This is what I was told by my examiner.)
