ASA Practical Test Standards for the Pilot and Instructor

Sport aviation is growing rapidly. But the new sport pilot / light-sport aircraft rules are still a mystery to many flight schools and instructors. To locate a flight school offering sport pilot training and/or light-sport aircraft rentals, click on the "Flight School And Rental Finder" tab above. This is a great place to share ideas on learning to fly, flight schools, costs and anything else related to training.

That paper certificate doesn't expire for 5 years... but the certificate alone, is NOT all you need to legally solo. As others have pointed out, you need an endorsement every 90 days from an instructor. Other operations (at airports > 25 miles away, cross country flights, etc) need separate endorsements.
I would call him and ask him about this but today he is no longer with us.
No need to ask him.. just look it up 14 CFR 61.87

Learned a lot in this time. But as you can see this topic has been going on for a while and back then nobody said this could be done. But today they say it can. Interesting indeed.

Go back and look at my second post in this thread. It was the first to address the subject of doing the checkride in a single place aircraft.

I have always said it could be done!!!! I knew that because I read the PTS back when it came out in 2004. In fact I don't think there has been anyone on this forum that said it couldn't be done. What has been said is we don't think that it is a smart way to do it.

BTW Sport Pilot is in the Atlanta area.

That's it.

I'm done.

If SportPilot thinks so little of his thoughts and words that they become transient and ephemeral, then I'm no longer going to waste my time reading or responding to them.

Onto "ignore" he goes.

Too bad - but I think it's the right thing to do.

I've got two on that list, personally. The difficult thing is resisting the temptation to go look at what an ignored person says. I end up reading about half of them.

It's a shame the owner of this forum doesn't understand or care about the forum settings.. Reduces the value of the entire forum, as threads become less meaningful because of this. What a joke.

I don't have time today, but perhaps someone could create a poll to help amplify the issue? i.e. time limits on post deletions.

On a different site the post completely disappear like they were never there. That is unless someone quotes them, then they are saved for posterities sake.
