Cold day in Maine and the last flight for 2017

Post by David »

My last flight for 2017, cold day in Belfast. -17c and -23c @ 3000 ft. Got the chance to get close to 40 min of flight time searching for warm air, but no luck (just cold).

I have an adjustable mod that covers the radiator up to 70% restricting the airflow and have an in-flight adjustable oil cooler shutter. I was able to keep the oil temps up to 215 to 220 not too bad with some warm air from the heater.

Yikes!

I thought it was chilly here in SC yesterday with temps around 41F! Even so I had the metal stip on and kept the temps the same as you and the "heating system" kept it warm at 5500' where it was only 5C.

Happy New Year!

Paul did you get pounded with the weather? I think we will see 41 in about 3-4 months

Single digits all week, David. (Fortunately, at least they're not negative digits...)
