Nice.

Looks like only one nav/comm...so can't instrument train, right?

Don't see why not.

I got my IR in a 172 with a single nav/com.

Professor,

Nice panel. Any way to make that image smaller, though?

Eddie, I can upload a lower res version tonight.
Andy, with the SL30, you have the functionality of 2 navcoms in one box. You can dial in 2 frequencies each for nav and com (one active and one standby per). You can monitor 1 com frequency while the other is active (and swap by pushing one button) so you can copy ATIS while monitoring ATC. For nav, you can assign one VOR to the CDI and another to a digital RMI, so you can do cross radials. So, yes, fine for IFR training. Has to be under a hood in VMC, though, since acft isn't IFR legal.

Paul,
I think we are dating ourselves.. My first solo cross country was in the SA-9A Skycoupe, flew from Riverside CA to Phoenix AZ, used the Narco Mark III, trusty E6B, stopwatch, and sectionals. Hit Deer Valley Airport dead on - gee, what did we ever do without GPS..... Don

What did we do, Don? We looked outside and enjoyed the sights, instead of staring at a screen.

Yep, that was the one. Had it in the Champ back in 1961.

Ah, good to see in that picture how the Vortex Generators are supposed to be applied. My former instructor is updating his Evektor to the 1320 GW (these, plus a different nose tire and SN placard, are necessary). But, all they sent initially, was a bag of them and the sticky tape, but no instructions or diagram! I'll have him look at the pic!

The exact placement is critical, Rich. Evektor should have sent him a template. Also, sticky tape? I always use Loctite 330 2-part epoxy for attaching VGs. Have your former instructor contact me and maybe I can help.
