KFGU Collegedale TN
I gave a family friend, who is a photographer, her first flight in a light aircraft. It was a bit bumpy but she was a trooper and managed to get some really nice pics of the Collegedale airport and surrounding area.

That runway looks like a downhill landing at both ends!

Yep, it's a "bowl". And ridges on both sides, makes it hard to spot from the air unless you are aligned with the runway.

Interesting airport, gorgeous photos, and an equally gorgeous Ercoupe!

Thanks guys!
Flocker FGU will sneak up on you if you fly up from the South. When you smell the Little Debbies you know you are close.

Watch out for the outlet store, don't want to be overgross on takeoff...

Re: KFGU Collegedale TN
Been by it many times, but don't think I've ever landed there.
I have to coordinate with Karen, but anyone want to head over tomorrow if the weather's nice?

Does a "bowl" runway basically even out when you land there? I bet thst runway is even more sloped than the photo shows. What are the considerations? There's probably a lot of common sense items: landing near the numbers at minimum safe airspeed for conditions, resist urge to overheat the brakes, etc. What else should the pilot be thinking about for a runway sloped like that?
