Re: Sting Flight's Latest Video--for Fish Heads
Rich, thanks for keeping us posted on this distressing situation. We've lived a total of 35 years in California, one time or another, and seen drought conditions multiple times during those spans...and this seem to be another extreme one. Here's hoping things turn around quicker than is forecast.
One suggestion for you: Now that you've (at least for the moment...) ended your profligate purchasing behavior with GoPro cameras, something like this might just be your next appropriate purchase:
http://www.amazon.com/QMIC-QM-200-Q-Mic ... B0051A4Q5O
That hollow, dining room-based sound booth you are using really doesn't match up with the quality of your videos. After all, Rich, we do have our standards here. <s>
Humor aside, here's a short segment done with University of New York physics professor Michio Kaku. Is this the 'new normal'? Is this perhaps California simply returning to its norms of several centuries ago? One impressive geological fact, to me at least, is that the sustained lack of water's weight out west is actually allowing the mountains to raise up in elevation.

Jack--
Hey thanks for that sound tip! I had no idea there was a device for that. My Sony digital recorder will take care of it too; my problem is from recording at the desktop PC.
As for California's mountains rising, roger that, and it's Central Valley floor is also subsiding--from all the ground-water over-drafting and wells being pumped dry. We'll be toast here, if this is a 10- or 15-year drought!
