Breaking in a new Rotax 582

Talk about airplanes! At last count, there are 39 (and growing) FAA certificated S-LSA (special light sport aircraft). These are factory-built ready to fly airplanes. If you can't afford a factory-built LSA, consider buying an E-LSA kit (experimental LSA - up to 99% complete).

Breaking in a new Rotax 582

I just acquired a Quicksilver Sport 2S and I'm in the process of completing the build. It is a kit. The engine is new 0 hours but has probably been sitting in storage for 3 years. I think I have someone who will do the break in with me, but my question is can you break in the engine off the root or does it need to be done on the aircraft? Any other newbie suggestions are always welcome. This looks like a great resource and community of pilots.
