To paraphrase the old spiritual:
Home at last, home at last.
Thank God almighty, you're home at last!

Way cool!

Next trip south, consider a stop near Knoxville.

If you’re comfortable with a 1,700’ grass runway, I can arrange ethanol-free MOGAS for you. Not to mention coffee and conversation!

Question for Cam . . .

Did you install the Garmin GNX 375 WAAS navigator in your Sling?

Thanks Bill! No, GTN 625...it is the 650 without radio control...I use G3X Touch for radio control.

Dr...Amen!

FastE...thanks for the invite! You live in beautiful country! We had to abandon our TN low-level due to bumps...and a hunger for blackened grouper in Destin. 1700'-300' (landing roll)=1400'...if I can get it down in first 1400' I should be ok.

I have been doing a local area orientation for 289BT. She likes her nice warm FL weather better than snow and ice in Michigan!

I have been flying VFR and IFR around FL. Both work great. IFR easier. Shot some practice RNAV (GPS) LPV approaches into KISM and KSFB. Auto pilot makes it SO EASY...just monitor and work the power lever. This airplane is really a great cross country machine. It may be slower than a Vans or Cirrus, but, it is super-comfortable, it has XM radio and XM weather, and ADS-B weather, and so much cargo room. I am getting 5.5 gph / 105ktas = 22mpg+ / 6 hour endurance with 1 hour reserve (38.5 gal usable) / 724 stat mile range with 1 hour reserve? And most importantly, it is a joy to hand-fly.

Thread restart.

My thoughts on the Sling 2? FREAKIN' AWESOME! LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT!

95 hours on Sling so far...less than 2 months since mid-march purchase(11 hours on it at that time).

Just took Sling from KISM to KSEF to Lockwood Aviation for the Rotax recommended 100 hour inspection. NO ISSUES. Replaced all 8 spark plugs for a cost of $3.00 X 8 m= $24. (How much are Cessna/Piper/Mooney spark plugs?)

Flew to Sun N Fun on 2 separate days, etc... Flew to Destin, St Augustine, New Smyrna, Old St Pete (Albert Whitted) KSPG, and on and on....

IFR capability has been very helpful!!!!!!! ( if in doubt...GET IFR)

Glad you are enjoying the Sling.
