An 1800 lb LSA?

Talk about airplanes! At last count, there are 39 (and growing) FAA certificated S-LSA (special light sport aircraft). These are factory-built ready to fly airplanes. If you can't afford a factory-built LSA, consider buying an E-LSA kit (experimental LSA - up to 99% complete).

The Terrafugia Transition is done. Terrafugia has laid off almost all the staff working on the project. It's no longer feasible. If someone wants to step up to the plate and pay $750,000 for a "one off", they'll build you one. Other than that, it's over. It does fly fairly well, but the automobile drivetrain was problematic.

Terrafugia will be focusing all their efforts on the TF-X. It's rumored that Elan Musk is going to step in with a large investment.
