New P2008 Owner and short flight review!

Talk about airplanes! At last count, there are 39 (and growing) FAA certificated S-LSA (special light sport aircraft). These are factory-built ready to fly airplanes. If you can't afford a factory-built LSA, consider buying an E-LSA kit (experimental LSA - up to 99% complete).

Those are a couple of gorgeous airplanes!

I think I'd lean towards the Astore - love the sliding canopy! Kinda like a 21st Century mini-Tiger!

I'm not going to lie, that's where I was leaning initially! I'll post some more pictures of the Astore later on. Thanks for the kind words y'all.

Great pics! I flew that Astore as I noted in the post - it has the 912iS engine - flown it twice, actually. Great airplane. Both of the Tecnams are built exceptionally well, very sturdy and stable. Not twitchy in the slightest. I liked both but lean towards the low wing, although I recognize the "sunburn" risk here in Texas! In response to Flocker, I am doing a Bristell demo the weekend of May 20 in Lancaster, PA, weather permitting.

Cheers

Mack,
Since you're in KLNS anyway on the 20th, why not swing by Lock Haven the next day, and join us for the AvSport flight scool open house on International Learn To Fly Day? That invitation is extended to the whole SportPilotTalk family.

Really looking forward to reading your comparison on the Bristell. Beautiful airplane.

Here's a picture of my demo flight in the Bristell at the Light Sport Expo.

Did they happen to say what the empty weight was on that Astore?

No, I don't have that info ... but Mark regularly checks the forum and I'm sure he can post it, or pm you (and me now that I think about it) with the empty weight. I'm guessing about 840-850 or thereabouts, plus or minus.

Cheers
