I came across an ad at Controller:

Apparently, N778AD is a newly built experimental SkyArrow. Despite the title, it was completed in 2014.

How does one even build an airplane like that? It is a composite airframe. I presume it's not like LongEZ, and major assemblies are shipped from Italy. Still, is there much gluing? What would it entail to give it a pre-purchase inspection?

Lots of questions.

The 1450L appears to be a kit version of the certified Sky Arrow 650T (not Light Sport).

http://www.skyarrow.it/aircraft/

That is normally certificated at a higher weight than 1,320 lbs, but I suppose a builder could specify the lower weight and qualify it as Light Sport.

I imagine the kit must come with major composite structures pre-assembled.

For pre-purchase, I'd want to find someone familiar with the breed - my first call would likely be to Chesapeake Sport Pilot in Maryland. They have a lot of experience with them.

Still, an interesting find. I wonder what the asking price is.
