Looking for LSA and pilot

Talk about airplanes! At last count, there are 39 (and growing) FAA certificated S-LSA (special light sport aircraft). These are factory-built ready to fly airplanes. If you can't afford a factory-built LSA, consider buying an E-LSA kit (experimental LSA - up to 99% complete).

Unfortunately, Charles, FAA rules prohibit the use of LSAs for hire, or in commercial operations, with the exception of flight instruction or glider towing. They do allow an owner/pilot to share expenses with a passenger on a po-rata basis. Your options would be to approach a flight school and receive instruction, or to locate a renter or owner in your area who is flying anyway, near where you want to go, and would like a passenger to share costs.
Good luck to you.

I mean that I will SHARE expenses, not pay for flight. Please let me know of a person to contact who may be willing to take me up.

And your closest option for that would probably be Gulf Coast Aviation: http://www.neworleansairplanes.com/

Although their website no longer lists the LSA they used to have. Does anyone know if they still operate one?

You might try Sportair out of North Little Rock which looks to be a couple hours away from Mountain View. They are distributors for several LSAs and may be willing to do a demo flight. Might charge a small fee if you're not interested in buying.
