NOTAMS FORMAT INFORMATION

Talk about airplanes! At last count, there are 39 (and growing) FAA certificated S-LSA (special light sport aircraft). These are factory-built ready to fly airplanes. If you can't afford a factory-built LSA, consider buying an E-LSA kit (experimental LSA - up to 99% complete).

NOTAMS FORMAT INFORMATION

Post by Edgefly »

After taking note of two types of notams which I could not decipher, I approached a senior CFI and a flight briefer about where to find the exact explanation of NOTAM format data and have been unable to determine where this information is available. I have looked in the AIM, the FARs and PHAK and been unable to find it. Admitting he also didn't know where to find it, the CFI simply said "I guess you'll have to call the FAA. But didn't know who or where to pose the question. Maybe the Sport pilot group isn't the most likely source but I decided to try here after some unsuccessful attempts with other aviation forums. Anyone with an idea?

Very useful links, CTLSi. Thanks!
The opinions posted are those of one CFI, and do not necessarily represent the FAA or its lawyers.
